In an under-the-radar British amusement park lies the globe's highest suspended looping roller coaster.
Fantasy Island Located in Ingoldmells along Lincolnshire's coastline, it stands as one of the nation's most distinctive amusement parks.
The eccentric amusement park boasts over 30 attractions, however, there’s one ride that enthusiasts of themed parks absolutely shouldn’t overlook.
The Odyssey roller coaster at Fantasy Island stands as the globe's highest suspended loop coaster, reaching an impressive height of 167 feet or 51 meters.
The heart-pounding attraction reaches speeds of 62 mph and was launched in 2002, coinciding with Queen Elizabeth II's Golden Jubilee celebration. Prince Edward was among the earliest riders on The Odyssey.
The ride features five inversions where passengers are flipped upside down, such as a corkscrew roll and a towering vertical loop measuring 124 feet / 37 meters in height.
The Odyssey holds a score of 4.6 out of five. Google One reviewer described it as "surprisingly enjoyable."
A different rider comments: "I adored it. Upon my initial try, it provided an incredible experience, likely surpassing even The Smiler at Alton Towers."

The attraction falls under Fantasy Island's 'Discovery' classification, allowing access solely to individuals who are at least 1.1 meters tall.
Fantasy Island now includes: "Brace yourself for an exhilarating journey as you ascend to incredible altitudes and experience a series of loops and twists at breakneck speeds."
'The Jubilee Odyssey is genuinely frightening and isn’t suited for those with weak nerves who visit the Skegness roller coaster.'
However, "The Odyssey" is not the sole remarkable feature of Fantasy Island.
The amusement park hosts Europe's biggest weekly market, featuring over 320 booths spread across seven days.
Guests can pause at Fantasy Foods for cotton candy, explore options for wooden garden furniture, or even get a body piercing.
The marketplace features an extensive toy store, face-painting services, handbag vendors, and a baby boutique.
At TikTok, @coastertog described it as 'the most unusual theme park in the UK,' mentioning that it’s the sole location where you can experience riding the largest SLC roller coaster globally and then leave with items like a wooden eagle, a dog-shaped speaker, and an outdoor furniture set consisting of three pieces.

A visitor commented on Google Reviews stating, "The marketplace along with all the stores near Fantasy Island is fantastic. There are plenty of deals to be found."
Someone else commented: "The fantastic attractions along with an amazing marketplace make this a great day trip. We loved exploring the different food vendors and ended our visit with a daring tattoo."
A single-day Explorer wristband, granting guests entry to all attractions within the park, is priced at £28.80 when bought online.
Guests have the option to purchase rides individually by obtaining an iCard from the park, which can then be refilled at the cash registers operated by Fantasy Island staff.
